Welcome to the Learning Zone What is “peace?” How many ways do you think the question can be answered? In a series of video and audio interviews, you’ll learn more about the peacemakers themselves, and their activities, as they try to make their organizations, communities, cities, countries and the world a more peaceful place.
The Missing Peace: Artists Consider the Dalai Lama is a major art exhibition that presents art as a lens through which to see our common humanity and explore the many meanings of peace. It features works from 88 artists representing more than 25 countries and began its global tour in 2006. The Dalai Lama Foundation is developing a values-oriented curriculum for middle school (approximately ages 10 to 13) and high school (ages 14 to 18) to accompany the exhibition. The purpose is to provide a framework for young people to move from inspiration to continued study and engagement.
Study Circles support - Study Guides for Ethics for the New Millennium
These materials are designed to support study circle coordinators.
This online "reflective course" explores the ethics underlying the practice of altruism. As you proceed, you will explore the framework that the Dalai Lama has outlined for moral living. Its foundation is the observation that those whose conduct is ethically positive are happier and more satisfied, and the belief that much of the unhappiness we humans endure is actually of our own making. Its ultimate goal is happiness for every individual, based on universal human principles, rather than religious principles.

This online "reflective course" explores the dynamics of destructive emotions.
| In it you will explore a perennial human predicament — the nature and destructive potential of “negative” emotions — when, for example, jealousy turns into murderous rage. The Buddhist tradition has long pointed out that recognizing and transforming negative emotions lies at the heart of spiritual practice. From the perspective of science, many of these same emotional states played a critical role in human survival — but now, in modern life, they pose grave dangers to our individual and collective fate.
